I love the the very fine delicate handwritten style, would be amazing if I could find a piece of writing from someone like my Grandad & have that copied onto my body. That or a small sketch/watercolour of his.
Currently thinking this quote might be a winner:
It's so hard to chose something that's going to be stuck on your body, for me it needs to be pretty, tasteful & mean something. I'm not one to get a random tat, this is going to be on my skin for the rest of my life!!

I'm not really a fan of a quotes tattooed on a body, I've got the opinion on my mind that someone that needs a written reminder to be happy is kind of sad. But a tattoo is personal.
Please don't get guard your heart on your chest though :P

I have "all that glisters is not gold" from the merchant of venice on my ribs, which has great meaning to me.
I think if a quote means something to you or is special, there is no harm getting it scripted onto your body. Its always great when there is a story that goes along with ur tattoo instead of it being a silly mistake (i have one on my tummy!!) The next one im going to get is my clan motto!!!

This is exactly what I want, going to book in to have it when I get paid next week. Im having "joie de vivre" on my left wrist in writing like this, various reasons which I won't go into. Guard your heart is lovely :) x

I think yours is a lovely idea with lovely words.
my boyfriends friend tragically died earlier this year and as a tribute he got a copy of a tattoo he had on his shoulder but changed the words in it to 'with arms wide open' it makes it so much more special that its there for a reason

I also love handwriting style tattoos, I'm currently trying to find a good handwritten style font for my next tattoo - the word 'bliss' x

I like quote tattoo's but like you I am not one to just have a random one written across me. I like this 'guard your heart' its such a lovely heartfelt quote. It also can mean a number of things ... where are you looking at getting it?
